We moved from a 1 bedroom mobile home in Blacksburg, VA to 2 bedroom townhouse in Lynchburg, VA, to 3 bedroom ranch (1st daughter was born) across town, to a detached home in Richmond, VA (1st son was born) to a townhome in Columbia, MD to a Victorian in Cary, NC to a transitional in Gulf Breeze, FL (2nd daughter was born) to a 5 bedroom 3 level in Alpharetta, GA to a rental in San Diego, CA (2nd Son was born) to a traditional home in Richmond, VA to our current home in Cary, NC(with only 2 kids - the oldest 2 have finished college and left home).
We moved during the school year twice - which our oldest daughter still occasionally complains about (she's married and has a son of her own now).
